My work is created utilizing a variety of materials. I use canvas, wood panels, tobacco barn wood, watercolor paper, vintage tin ceiling tiles, and refurbished antique furniture as platforms to present my creativity. I constantly "push the limits" to create new and unique pieces.
Many of my paintings are created on gallery wrapped canvas which does not require framing. They include contemporary Southwest and Tribal depictions of Warriors and Shamans. I created my own tribe to honor and give respect to the many people who walked the earth before us. Each piece portrays great strength and spirit. There is also a bit of whimsy in many of my pieces.
I also create mixed media pieces incorporating found objects, African porcupine quills, antique acquisitions, saguaro cactus spines, handmade paper and air dry clay. These pieces are truly unique and one of a kind.
My abstract paintings include color studies based on my love of modern architecture and landscapes inspired from my many years of traveling. All of my pieces are extremely detailed and portray great depth and texture. I use many layers of paint and texture to create a strong, colorful, and vibrant effect. My paintings are contemporary, yet fit with all decorating schemes and decors.
I work on all sizes of canvas. I also construct custom wood panels to meet the client's exact specifications. My work ranges from small 10" x 10" pieces to large 3' x 20' paintings. Much of my work is commissioned by collectors who require a specific size to meet very discerning tastes. I meet with each collector to fully understand their desires and often provide a sketch of the piece. The result is an original fine art piece that will be treasured for generations.
